Fashion inspired on art, Artist at Home
Art and fashion are always together. There are occasions where the artist is the one that makes the clothes; and there are others, where clothes make the artist. Artist at home is a project where different brands are involved like GO from designer Olya Glagoleva. This creative has consolidated art and fashion in a way ever seen, taking into account how the fit of an artist looks during the process of production on the studio. Artist at Home, collaboration with the Russian artist Lisa Smirnova, is a collection inspired on the look and work of every artist, mainly painters, showing up clothes made out of an unique collection that tells the story of a painter whose studio and her home is a single space, where both home and work clothing mix together.
The fabrics used for this collection are cashmere, organic Indian hemp & cotton. Every garment is made only once, each decorated with hand embroidery in the unique style of Lisa Smirnova. It takes 100 hours to produce just one garment. It is really a pleasure so see that there are more people worried about our planet and work on making eco friendly, such a recycled collection based on art!
Salomon Juan Marcos Villarreal, president of Grupo Denim, a successful maquiladora located in Mexico, expressed the amazing work of this collection. “The story of this collection and the creative process made me transported to the art side. We at Grupo Denim make the best denim jeans but this is pure art, cloth pieces of art. Every piece is packed in a box made of wood with detailed information about the item and a small book with the full story of creation. This is so inspired”, said Salomon Juan Marcos Villarreal.
